Your 2021 Social Media Calendar
We all know the major national holidays, Christmas, New Years, President’s Day, etc. And when it comes to creating timely social content, it’s usually pretty easy when these holidays roll around. But what if you d on’t have anything happening on a random Tuesday in April?
When I start struggling with social content, the first thing I do is turn to Internet Holidays. These little celebrations are usually great ways to get the creative juices flowing, and capitalize on trending hashtags.
Below I put together my list of favorite Internet Holidays (as well as national Holidays) as well as the “official” hashtags that go with them.
January 2021
January 1 - New Year’s Day - #NewYearsDay - Kick off 2021 celebrating the new year and (FINALLY) saying good by to 2020. Let your audience know what they can expect from you this new year.
January 4 - National Trivia Day - #NationalTriviaDay - Challenge your followers with trivia about your business or industry.
January 11 - Clean off Your Desk Day - #CleanOffYourDeskDay - Do some winter cleaning and show off your streamlined workspace.
January 18 - Martin Luther King Day - #MLKDay - Celebrate MLK’s birthday and his significant impact in the Civil Rights Movement.
January 21 - Get To Know Your Customers Day - #GetToKnowYourCustomersDay - This is a great opportunity to get customer engagement by asking questions, offering prizes and using those stories.
February 2021
February 2 - Groundhog Day - #GroundhogDay - Are we going to have 6 more weeks of winter or is spring around the corner?
February 4 - World Cancer Day - #WorldCancerDay - Celebrate the lives of those fighting cancer and raise awareness.
February 11 - National Inventors’ Day - #NationalInventorsDay - Celebrate your favorite inventor or one that made a significant impact on your industry.
February 12 - Chinese New Year - #ChineseNewYear - Today kicks off 15 days of celebrations and the restart of the Lunar Calendar.

March 4 - National Grammar Day - #NationalGrammarDay - Share a funny meme or make a few errors in your post and encourage engagement by getting your followers to try to find it.
March 5 - National Employee Appreciation Day - #EmployeeAppreciationDay - Share your thanks for your employees or contractors who keep moving your business forward.

April 20 - National Look-Alike Day - #NationalLookAlikeDay - Who do you most look like? Share a side-by-side.
April 22 - Earth Day - #EarthDay - Started in 1970, this day encourages education about current environmental issues globally.
April 26 - Arbor Day - #ArborDay - Get your tree hugging on and share some of the trees around you that bring you happiness. And don’t forget to plant a tree!
April 28 - Denim Day - #DenimDay - In 1998, the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the victim wore very tight jeans. People around the world wear jeans on this day as an international symbol to protest against sexual assault.
