Social Media in the Last Half of 2020
Now that we’re more than half way through the historic year of 2020, its left many businesses wondering, “Now what?”. Businesses are slowly reopening (in some states faster than others) and we’ve addressed many different changes in marketing as we shift through the Covid Pandemic. But now with Tik Tok in the lime light, and the last quarter of the year looming, its left many businesses wondering how social media is going to continue to play a roll in their marketing strategies.
Now, we can’t being to imagine that we can predict how the rest of 2020 will play out (if this year has taught us anything), but we can help you direct your efforts in the most effective way possible when it comes to your social media strategy.
Over communicate with potential/current customers - Social media offers you a great place to overly communicate with your followers. In a constantly changing environment, people are craving any kind of safety and consistency. Updating your clients/customers on your safety protocols, hours you’re open, changes you’re making in policies, and other things going on in your business helps to keep them comfortable.
Utilize as much video as possible - With older millennials diving headfirst into TikTok and video creation during lock down, video has continued to push its way into our daily lives. Just today, Instagram released more information on Instagram Reels (their answer to TikTok), and all social sites are continuing to push the organic reach of video over written posts. If you haven’t already, now is absolutely the time to get on the video train and do more of it. (Keep an eye out for some upcoming videos from me here at Hub now that we’re back in the office!)
Keep your content unfiltered and authentic - Since Instagram/FB Live came on the scene, people have continued to gravitate towards content that shows the real humans behind the brand. Whether you’re embracing video or written content this season, keep it real and down to earth.
Embrace your community - As we’ve all struggled over the past few months, the brands and people that have showcased their humanity and commitment to their communities have really stood out. Reach out, empathize and give back where you can, especially as you ask them for their continued support in your business.
